To kill a mockingbird

In class on Wednesday we talked about which character in the book inspired us the most. A lot of people said different characters for different reasons, but the one character I picked was Scout. I personally really like Scout so far because she likes to role with the big boys. She’s not afraid of anything except for the Radleys, but that’s exceptional. When I first started to read the book I thought she was a boy, due to her tom boy personality. When I found out that she was a girl, the first thing I said was “awesome!” I can totally relate to her sometimes. Scout doesn’t like guys to think of her as some girl that’s a “wussy” instead she likes to show that she can be just like them. That’s like me, I don’t like guys thinking that they have all the power and that there the ones in charge. Its honestly time for the girls to step up. Scout is only in grade 1, but acts like she’s a grade 5 boy. I think its really cool that she’s herself, and doesn’t care what anyone else thinks.

a MILLION dollars.

If I had 1 million dollars, what would I do with it?
I would probably donate most of it to cancer research. But what would I do with the rest of it?
WELL... I would probably buy a life time supply of chocolate pudding, just because I love chocolate pudding that much. Then I would by the apartment of my dreams for when I'm older. Design it with the cutest furniture, and make it totally me. This apartment would probably be in New York, and I'd be living the New York life. I would also send my mom somewhere really nice as a thank you for everything that she has done for me, and same with my dad. Knowing that after I'd bought all of these things I'd still have a fairly large amount of money left over. So, I would put away the money that i would need for the rest of my life, then give it away to charities, most likely somewhere in Africa. SO YEAH!

BODY LANGUAGE

Body Language,
Between men and women

Men and Women are from different planets they say, the lack of understanding and communication between these two species are so limited you tend to think we speak different languages. Well there is one language that both sexes display that are completely different and that’s called Body Language. Body language is the key to understanding each other. Men tend to portray three behavioural features and that is confidence, dominance, and assertiveness. Women on the other hand are quite different, they like to show nurturing behaviours, such as letting our feelings come through and showing our emotions and how we feel. Most men say what they mean and hopefully mean what they say. Their speech is straightforward and to the point. Women, on the other hand, are generally more complex and subtle, especially when it comes to conversation. For example, you’ll ask a man how his day was and he would answer simply by saying “Good” or “Tiring” or so on, sometimes if he wants to be descriptive he’ll tell you about it in a sentence. Go ahead and ask a women that same question, but get comfortable, because you’ll be in for the story of your life. Men will rarely give you compliments, instead there more likely to say a joke. Women, on the other hand, love to give you compliments and some of them will rarely joke. Men adore speaking about their achievements and successes. Women are sometimes not as fond of speaking much about their abilities, but about other things they have done. Women are more sensitive than men, and can be easily hurt by rude and impolite comments. Men face difficulties, while speaking about their inner feelings, but on the other hand women love speaking there opinions and there feelings. When talking to a women, body language is very important. They can instantly pick up by your body language if your listening or not. They especially don’t like it when you sit there and fidget while she is trying to have a conversation with you. Join into her conversation and really try to see where she’s coming from. In our society it is not usual that a women will tell a man straight out that she is interested in him, instead they use there body language to give out the sign that there attracted to them. Women who are trying to get a man's attention are easy to point out, even from across the room; virtually every aspect of their body language changes drastically. For starters, they lean toward the man they are trying to attract and they frequently make eye contact. They laugh more often than usual and smile constantly, regardless of whether or not the guy is funny. They chew on their lips and their faces are more animated. Flirtatious women also tend to fidget more. For example, they might fiddle with their jewellery, twisting rings and tugging at necklaces. This is due to nervous excitement; because their hearts are beating a little faster than usual, they need some sort of outlet for their tension.

Body language is key for both men and women. With out it you would not be able to understand each other.

Q & A with Emma and Damian

Q & A with Emma and Damian

(Emma) Q: What does it mean when a guy ignores one girl and talks to another?

(Damian) A: Honestly? We probably don’t even know were doing it, and if we do its most likely to mean were trying to make the other girl jealous or were just more attracted to the other one.

(Damian) Q: How is a girls body language different from when she approaches an attractive guy from an unattractive guy?

(Emma) A: Girls tend to act more relaxed around unattractive guys cause they feel they don’t have to impress them as much as they would around an attractive guy. Why? I have no idea.

(Emma) Q: Why & How do guys act different when there around their best guy friends compared to when there around a group of girls?

(Damian) A: Were more careful with what we say when were around girls, but when it comes to our best guy friends we say whatever we want. We also act sort of tough around girls, but with out making it obvious. We just don’t want to show our inner soft side.

(Damian) Q: Why do guys always have to ask out the girls, why not visa versa?

(Emma) A: Well guys can be very intimidating, and you never know what’s going to be their next move. Personally girls like to play hard to get, and when a guys asks them out they feel like their mission is complete.

(Emma) Q: What does it mean when a guy is constantly staring in your direction?

(Damian) A: He’s probably just really interested in you, and is wondering where you are and what your doing.

(Damian) Q: What kind of body language do you expect from a guy when your talking to him?

(Emma) A: I expect a guy to be listening and paying attention to what I have to say. I also like to hear what he has to say about it. My advice, don’t fidget when a girl is talking to you because she’ll automatically think you lost interest. Also agree with her when she lays down a statement.

(Emma) Q: What three behaviours are men most likely to display while with a women?

(Damian) A: We like to show confidence, dominance, and assertiveness. Its that simple.

(Damian) Q: What three behaviours are women most likely to display while with a man?

(Emma) A: I’d have to say were most likely to show our emotions, let our feelings come through and show nurturing behaviours.

(Emma) Q: When you guys flirt, does it automatically mean that your attracted to us, or its just fun and games?

(Damian) A: Well we wouldn’t flirt with you if we weren’t attracted to you one bit. So yeah, if we are flirting with you, yes we are attracted to you, but don’t take it as we want to be with you forever and get married. Were just trying to get to know you a little bit more.

The day I broke my Wrists

The day I broke my wrists was a day I’ll never forget. I was in grade four going on to grade five and summer vacation was in two days. One early school morning, three of my friends and I were discussing our favorite movie, “The Cheetah Girls”, while playing on the swings. Like little grade four’s, we wanted to be one of the characters from The Cheetah Girls. I was “Dorenda”, out of the four of them. But two of my friends Jenny, and Aimee were fighting over one of the Cheetahs, “Chanelle”. My friend Monica decided that it would be fun to have a bumping contest. Bumping means to jump in your swing while swinging, and who ever makes the whole swing rack shake and vibrate wins. Unlucky for me, I was right in the middle between both of them. First, my friend Jenny went to do her bump; her bump wasn’t so strong compared to her little body. Second my friend Aimee, who’s a much bigger girl, did her bump. Sadly I wasn’t paying any attention, I was to caught up singing one of the Cheetah Girls songs; consequently, next second, I flipped out of my swing, my wrists folded and my face smacked the wooden plank surrounding the swings. There was sand in my eyes, nose, and my mouth. I got a bloody nose, and my face was scraped and bloody. I remembered I got blood on my friend’s jacket, and she was freaking out. I just ignored that fact, and went straight to the office with Monica, and Aimee, while Jenny was whining. While I was waiting for my dad to come pick me up, the principle was saying how they weren’t broken, I wish she were right. When my dad came and took me to my mom’s hospital, I had to wait for about an hour for my x-rays. While sitting in the hospital waiting for my results, I was just thinking how my mom would react; she had always been so protective. Finally, the doctor came back, turned out I had two broken wrists. To bad summer vacation was in forty-eight hours.

Second Glance

I picked up this book called Second Glance by the author Jodi Picoult. She is an amazing writer and her books have great story lines. Second Glance is so far about a man named Ross who is a ghost hunter trying to find his dead wife after a terrible accident. I havn't got really far in the book yet, but so far its great. I picked out this book because its about ghosts, and that subject really interests me. Anyways, I'll keep an update.

My favourite word.

FAITH.
"
confidence or trust in a person or thing"

Some of my favourite quotes!

-Live life like you're going to die today, dream like your going to live forever.

-Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift, that's why they call it the present

-The only mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

-
sports do not build character, they reveal it.

-Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

These quotes really reached out to me, and every single one meant something different to me.

Commuication over Msn!

Msn is the most popular communicating tool in the 21st century. Yet, it’s the most misunderstood. Chatting over msn can be very complicated towards the person you are talking to. It is very hard for us human beings to understand what exactly is being said, and how it is being said. The fact that we can’t hear or see your body language makes it very difficult for us to fully understand you. Talking on msn was told to be the most easiest way of communicating, I think not. How is it ridiculously easy when you can barely understand the person your talking to? I’ve had msn since grade 4, and it took all those years to finally understand msn is a waste of time and all it leads to are fights, arguments, and confusion. Your most likely to act different on msn then you are in person. When your hiding behind your computer screen where no one can hear or see you, you will tend to put on a different person. People act fake, and they lead you on. If I gave one definition for msn it would be, “ an addicting communicating tool that tends to lead to nothing but trouble.” So to this day I’m still using msn, because I’m officially addicted to something pathetic and absolutely pointless.

PARENTS!

THEY ARE SO FRUSTRATING.

Jacobs Perspective

In the book I’m reading right now, Breaking Dawn, many things have happened. Every character in the book all have very different perspectives on the situation right now. Bella has a best friend that is a werewolf named Jacob Black. I’ve decided to talk about his perspective on the situation right now because his really touched me. Jacob Black is a werewolf and it’s a very religious thing in his town. His family are really good friends with Bella’s and in the second book called New Moon they really connected with each other. Jacob even fell in love with Bella, but Bella could not return the feelings because her love for Edward was so strong. It really crushed Jacob when Bella got pregnant and was on the verge of death. Jacob thought she was his first and only true love, and it hurt him so badly when he saw her there lying on the couch, looking like she was going to die every other second. What I’m really enjoying in Breaking Dawn is that Jacob is getting closer with the Cullen family, and there all starting to become the best of friends. Of course Jacob thought this was impossible, knowing that vampires and werewolf’s strongly despised each other. But Jacob knew that he had to become friends with the bloodsuckers(the Cullen family, in his words) in order to see Bella. Everyone knew that Jacob was strongly in love with Bella especially Edward. He could see it, and it hurt him because he thought that Bella might of have fallen in love with him as well. Jacob was very confused because he didn’t know exactly how he felt. When you become a werewolf, something happens to you, its called imprinting. Imprinting is when a werewolf automatically falls in love with someone and you cant stay away from them and there your top priority. Jacob didn’t imprint on Bella, and that’s why he was so confused. He felt so strongly about her but he knew that he hadn’t imprinted on her, and he didn’t know why. When Bella gave birth to a girl named Renesme, she was the most beautiful little girl anyone has every seen, she was perfect in everyway, and even to Jacob. Renesme was half vampire and half human being, she was one of a kind. Jacob had this urge that he had to be with her at all times, and cared about her so much, he didn’t know why. Until he found out that he had imprinted on her. When I read that he had imprinted on her, I freaked out, I couldn’t believe it at first, I literally had to close my book and think it through, it was the biggest shock of the book yet, No one in the book could believe it either but it happens, once you’ve imprinted there’s no going back. He was surprised that he imprinted on a little baby girl, Bella was furious because she thought that Jacob would do something with her. She was wrong, all Jacobs intentions with her was that he wanted to be her best friend and be like an older brother until she turned his age then he would make a move. Werewolf’s don’t age so, he had all the time in his life to be with her. A lot of readers did not like Jacob for this reason, they thought he was a freak for imprinting on a little girl. I thought different. I was extremely happy that he had imprinted on her, he finally found his place in the world and he found out the reason he was here today, was to be with Renesme. When he imprinted on Renesme, his perspectives on vampires changed that second. He was truly fond of them, and found out that he shouldn’t of have listened to his pack, (the other werewolf’s). He was family to the Cullen’s now, and was extremely appreciative. He learnt that you can’t judge, and follow what other people say. You have to go with what your heart speaks and that’s how he found his true love Renesme, He also learnt that rules are meant to be broken, and you just have to follow your heart no matter what it feels. Enemies are only enemies if you chose for them to be.

Novel Reading

I’ve been reading a book called Breaking Dawn. It’s the fourth book to the Twilight series, by the author Stephanie Meyer. Breaking Dawn so far has been really good, but I still think that my favourite one out of them all would be Twilight the first book. A lot has happened so far. Bella got married to her true love, Edward Cullen. As explained, Edward is a vampire, and is apart of the immortal world. Bella wants to become a vampire, so she can spend the rest of her life with Edward. She knows all the consequences that may appear during the formation. Bella was only 18 when she got married, pregnant and turned into a vampire, I was definitely surprised when she got pregnant, I kept thinking of what could happen, knowing that the father was a vampire and the mother was still an average human being. The Cullen’s were scared because they thought that Bella would not be able to make it past this pregnancy, because the little vampire inside her was starting to eat her from the inside out. The Cullen’s are very smart and classy vampires, there different from others. They do not feed off of humans but instead to quench there thirst they drink animal blood. They call themselves vegetarians. The Cullen’s found out many ways to keep Bella alive until giving birth. Bella was about to die and the only way she could still live was if Edward would bite her and cure her with his venom, of course by doing this the venom would spread through her body and turn her into a vampire, The Cullen’s had no choice, they had to bite her or else she would of died. I was very surprised about Bella’s behaviour when she was a newborn vampire. Newborns are known for being out of control, and that was the last thing Bella was. The Cullen’s were very shocked at how much self control she had. It was very interesting reading this part of the book of when Bella was first turned into a vampire because its amazing how she turned out. Bella was originally the typical klutz, no balance what so ever, was no good on her feet, couldn’t run, and was very weak. Now its amazing what she turned into. Newborns are very strong vampires, they have lots of blood in them, and are fully energized. Just like human beings, after having an energy drink or lots of sugar there very hyper and out of control. Well with vampires its not red bull, monster, or rock star that gives them this energy, Its blood. I couldn’t imagine keeping what she has become a secret, what about her family? Or her friends back at home? Bella loves Edward so much that she’s willing to do anything for him same goes for Edward. There love for each other is so strong, before I couldn’t imagine something being that dedicated and passionate between two people that come from completely different worlds.
Edward and Bella has gone through so much with each other, and it makes them that much stronger. Reading about there love for each other is unbelievable, all you can do is get jealous and wish that it was you in that position, because everyone these days wants to find someone they can share there life with. Breaking Dawn is so far very good, and I’m very excited to finish it.
