Should we.. or Shouldnt we?

I dont think we should spend so much money on the 2010 Olympics because it's a waste of valuable money going to a cause that's not needed at the moment. Instead they should be putting the money that goes to the Olympics to better causes, such as: pulling the troops out of Iraq, feeding the poor children that are suffering in Africa, going to cancer research, and the list goes on. Why does the world donate so much funds to the Olympics, when it is clearly stated that there are actual problems in the world, that does not involve sports. The world would probably be a much better place, and more supported if we didnt spend so much money on worldwide sport programs.
I truly believe that if we had to give any large amount of money to a cause it would be to the scientists that are trying to find a cure for cancer. People die everyday from cancer, and other diseases, wouldnt we want to prevent this from happening? Lives arent being taken away in the Olympics. There getting paid for there talents that they have, and to show them off. Well why dont they pay the cancer insitutues for showing off there skills? Its rediculous. We should not spend over a million dollars on the Olympics.
